The southern tip of main land India is the confluence of the Indian ocean, Arabian sea and the Bay of Bengal, where one can see the sunset and moon rise simultaneously on a full moon evening. The Vivekananda Rock and the Memorial built in 1970 consist of a 2.2 meter high bronze statue of Swami Vivekananda mounted on a pedestal of 1.4 meters and a meditation hall. The KanyakumariTemple, the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial and the 133-feet-tall statue of Thiruvalluvar are the other attractions. Airport: Thiruvananthapuram.
