Archipelago, also known as 'Emerald Isles', consisting of 300 richly forested tropical islands (250 of them uninhabited) in the Bay of Bengal. Most of them are surrounded by coral reefs and have white sandy beaches. Chief attractions: Cellular jail, Samudrika marine museum, Fisheries museum, the Anthropological museum, the Forest museum, the mini zoo and the water sports complex. Other places of interest: Mount Harriet, Ross Island.
